Honor/Color Guard

The New Milford Police Department’s Honor Guard was established in 2011. Currently, the Honor Guard has seven members who formally respresent the police department at various community events. The Honor Guard strives to be an active participant in our community; whether it be honoring the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans at the Memorial Day Parade, or attending the 9/11 Ceremony to preserve the memory of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Honor Guard members also assist with the coordination of interdepartmental events such as award ceremonies, memorial dedications, as well as funeral services for both active and retired members of our agency.
